Planting Our Future: grant call for autumn tree plantings

Trees are more important today than ever before. They help retain water in the landscape, improve air quality and mitigate the impacts of climate change. But they also do one more important thing – they connect people. That is why we are opening the autumn grant call of the We Plant the Future program, in which we will support community tree plantings throughout Slovakia.

If you have an idea how to bring greenery where it is lacking – to your municipality, school, public space or landscape – now is the right time. We do not plant trees just for the landscape. We also plant them for the people who meet, collaborate and create something that will remain here for the future.

The grant call is intended for projects that:

• bringnew greenery to cities, towns or open countryside
• involvelocal communities, volunteers or schools
• have along-term benefit for the environment and people

For example, we support:

• planting tree rows, alleys and windbreaks
• establishing and restoring fruit orchards
• planting in community gardens, school campuses or public spaces

How much can you get:

• we will support 15 to 20 projects
• We plan to allocate more than €40,000 for autumn plantings, 1 project can receive resources up to €4,000

• non-profit organizations
• schools
• municipalities
• community initiatives and active groups
