A strong country does not happen by chance. It happens where people feel responsible for the place they live in. For more than 30 years, we have stood by the people who are changing Slovakia into a better place to live – for the community, the country and future generations. We support projects, communities and initiatives that improve public space, protect the environment, strengthen civil society and bring sustainable solutions for the future.
We believe that behind every positive change there are people. Active neighbors, volunteers, schools, experts, farmers, cities and civic organizations. Our task is to connect them, support them and help them turn good ideas into real changes in the country.
Our work is based on the values of democracy, respect for people, nature protection, expertise and cooperation. We perceive society and the country as one whole – a healthy environment and a healthy civil society are mutually dependent.
We support tree planting, public space restoration, climate change adaptation, biodiversity enhancement and landscape care. We develop community environmental programs that combine professional solutions with active public involvement over the long term.
Our most well-known initiatives include:
- Planting the Future – an initiative to support community tree plantings throughout Slovakia
- Green Oases – a grant program focused on the restoration and creation of green public spaces
- Tree of the Year Survey – a survey highlighting the importance of trees and the stories of the people who care for them
Through the For the Land platform, we support regenerative agriculture, agroforestry and healthy soil management. We connect farmers, scientists, experts and public institutions and bring practical solutions that help the country better manage climate change.
We are dedicated to education, pilot projects, expert consultations and testing regenerative practices directly in practice.
We support active people and organizations that protect democratic values, human rights, transparency and civic participation.
We are part of the EEA Civil Society Fund Slovakia consortium, which supports civic organizations operating in the areas of democracy, the rule of law, human rights, media literacy and the protection of vulnerable groups.
We believe that a strong civil society is the foundation of a resilient and free country.
We help improve public spaces, support community life and create an environment that connects people. We also have a long-standing commitment to supporting non-motorized transport, cycling and sustainable mobility.
Our programs are often developed in collaboration with local governments, schools, communities and experts from various fields.
For more than three decades, we have supported hundreds of projects and thousands of people across Slovakia.
In 2025 alone, we:
- supported 79 projects
- distributed more than €181,500
- helped implement dozens of community plantings and public spaces
- engaged hundreds of volunteers and partners
Our programs connect the civic sector, professional public, schools, businesses, and local communities every year.
Our work is based on:
- expertise and data
- long-term partnerships
- community participation
- connecting environmental and social issues
- practical solutions with real impact
An important part of our work is also communicating topics that affect the future of the country – from climate change to democracy to the quality of public space.
