New opportunities for civil society – Call no.2 for Project Grants.
The aim of this call is to select one project beneficiary to implement the predefined project (PDP3) “Supporting the cohesion of the civil society sector” under the EEA Civil Society Fund Slovakia programme.
The project aims to strengthen cohesion, mutual understanding and cooperation within the civil society sector in Slovakia. To achieve this goal, a combination of two interrelated dimensions is expected: analytical work at the sector level and the creation of structured opportunities for dialogue and exchange of experiences between civil society actors.
An important part of the project is to prepare a study on the state of the civil society sector in Slovakia. The study should analyse common narratives about the role of civil society, identify the main structural challenges and highlight risks affecting democracy, the rule of law and human rights. It is also expected to provide an analytical and data-based basis for further reflection and cooperation within the sector.
In addition to the analytical part, the project is intended to create inclusive spaces for dialogue, networking and coordinated reflection between civil society organizations. In particular, it is expected to organize national civil society meetings (at least two are recommended during the project duration), which will contribute to strengthening mutual relations, building trust and formulating common strategic priorities.
Applicants can propose a specific methodology and time link between the analytical part of the project and the organization of the meetings. However, it is important that these two dimensions complement each other and jointly contribute to a more cohesive, strategically anchored and value-oriented civil society sector.
All project activities must be anchored in the core values of the EEA Civil Society Fund programme – democracy, the rule of law, human rights, equality and civic participation – and contribute to strengthening solidarity, common understanding and collective capacity of civil society in Slovakia.
